We assume that 18.6 % of your salary is contributed to the compulsory state pension insurance (if insured) plus the ETF Rürup contributions of 92% minus employers' share (in the case of employees) are deducted as special expenses for tax purposes. The tax effects were estimated on the basis of your calculation basis.
  • The big advantage of Rürup is the tax advantages. You can deduct your contributions every year as pension expenses in the tax return - up to EUR 25,787 in 2021.
  • At present, the state approves the contributions pro rata (92%). However, this percentage increases every year, so that you can deduct from the year 2025 your Rürup contributions to 100 %.
  • Means: 2021 are a maximum of EUR 23,724 deductible. For spouses, the deductible amount even doubles to EUR 47,448.
  • In the payout phase your Rürup pension will then be taxed with your personal income tax rate.

Switch to ETF Rürup

Our switching experience with providers

Select your provider:

A | Switch and transfer your assets

Your provider has agreed to contract switches in the past and it is therefore probable that you will be able to transfer your assets to your ETF Rürup. For reliable information, ask you provider.

B | Cancel contributions and switch:

Your provider has not agreed to a switch in the past. However, you can simply cancel future contributions to your old contract and sign a new ETF Rürup contract to profit from tax deductions. In the retirement phase you will then receive pensions from both contracts.

Risk Calculator

Simulate your accumulation phase over all the historical periods of identical length since 1900: That's what would have happened in the best, medium and worst case.

The graphical simulation shows the investment and payout phases.
Note: Every time you change a parameter, the simulation runs again, which can result in completely new best/medium/bad periods. And of course, despite a comprehensive data base, variability, and care taken in the preparations and certain adjustments, the calculation gives no certainty or guarantee for the future!

The calculation:
The calculation is based on all equally long actual historical paths of a world portfolio of stocks / bonds since the year 1900, from which the worst and best periods are determined. We have deducted all our costs from the calculated return. In doing so, we consider historical inflation values for both the contributions shown and the regular payouts, therefore simulating only historical net returns after inflation. That is, the lines do not grow nominally on the timeline with the contributions and the returns but inflation is always included over time. We have deducted all our costs from the calculated return. The database for the calculation is based on our own analyzes based on Dimson / Marsh / Staunton, Ibbotson SBBI, MSCI and the Bundesbank.
Example: A shown terminal lump sum of EUR 100,000 actually equals EUR 100,000 in today’s purchasing power. The simulation therefore also includes a historical compensation for inflation in the contributions. With a starting monthly contribution of EUR 200, the saver would always invest EUR 200 according to the current purchasing power until the desired start of the payout, thus de facto increasing their contribution by 2 % per annum.

Frequently asked questions about security

Certification

Yes. The fund savings plan ETF Rürup was certified under the name "Raisin Pension Rürup" and the number 006078 by the certification authority of the Federal Central Tax Office. It fulfills all legal requirements.

Partners

Our fund savings plans are managed by Max Heinr. Sutor oHG. As a customer, you will receive your own account with IBAN, on which your deposits flow. In addition, the Sutor Bank will hold a securities account for you in which your fund shares will be kept.

The Hamburg Sutor Bank has been one of the few independent private banks in Germany since 1921. It offers an uncomplicated entry into the capital market, provides individual investment advice and manages numerous foundations.

You will receive your later pension payments from myLife Lebensversicherung AG.

The insurance company from Göttingen is the only life insurer in Germany to offer its customers only commission-free net tariffs. From the independent analysis house Morgen & Morgen myLife received the top grade "very good" in the stress test. In addition, it is certified by the renowned rating agency Assekurata a strong financial strength (A-) with a stable outlook. For the year 2021 myLife offers a total return of 2.00 %.

Sutor Bank manages the deposits for ETF Rürup contracts. myLife Lebensversicherung is in charge of paying out the pension.

Risks

Risk reduction through diversification

A broad set-up of your funds ("diversification") reduces the risk. First, your portfolio will be divided into different asset classes, especially equity and bonds. The equity investment is futhermore spread worldwide over several hundred shares, which reduces the risk of a single security.

Deposit Insurance

The German Deposit Insurance Act (EinSiG) states: Your deposits, which are between your cash receipt and fund purchase for a short time on your clearing account, are protected up to an amount of EUR 100,000.

Separate assets

Your capital, which you build up by the acquisition of fund shares over the years, are so-called separate assets. This means that your fund shares are not part of the assets of the Sutor Bank. In the event of an unlikely bankruptcy of Sutor, your assets will be remaining. Creditors have no claims or access to your securities; they are and will remain your property.

Stability of the life insurance

The myLife Lebensversicherung has a very high solvency, which means that it has enough equity capital. The so-called solvency ratio is an indicator of the performance and reliability of an insurance company in the event of a crisis. If an insurance company has enough own funds, the quota is 100 %. With a quota of 247 % (as of 2020), the myLife life insurance clearly meets the legal requirements.

Protektor as a safety net

Should an insurance company come into financial difficulties despite government regulations, Protektor Lebensversicherungs-AG intervenes. It is the security institution of all German life insurers and manages the statutory security fund for life insurers.

Raisin Pension GmbH will never have access to your money. Therefore, an unlikely bankruptcy would not affect your saved assets. They are managed by Sutor Bank or myLife Lebensversicherung AG. They would then also take over the customer service and the direct communication with you.

In the unlikely event that the Sutor bank goes bankrupt, your fund shares are protected in your Rürup securities account. They are and will remain your property, to which no creditor has access. If you have money on your ETF Rürup account, this is covered by the statutory deposit insurance.

The security institution of German life insurers protects you from the consequences of a possible insolvency of myLife Lebensversicherung AG: the Protektor Lebensversicherungs-AG. It continues the contracts, the benefits are retained, as well as the already granted profit sharing. Your pension is secured.
